Kandy Food Festival by Berunda

Kandy needs no special introduction. The cool climate, rich culture and easy going people… But on 27,28 & 29 of December Kandy was brought to life with a special event that was the talk of the town. The Kandy Food Festival organized by the Berunda events team was the 1st of its kind to hit the other wise calm and poised city. Held at the Bogambara cultural park (previously the 2nd largest prison in Sri Lanka) the 3 day event featured a unique range of Sri Lankan, Indian, Japanese, Mexican, Italian, Thai, Chinese and indonesian food. The Berunda team especially focused on Kandy as a special effort to boost the declined tourism the city greatly suffered from post the tragic events in April and to bring something diverse to the city. The festival featured the infamous traditional Kandyan drummers whose unique style of dance mixed with their hypnotic beats rocked the Bogambara cultural park. There was no denying that our traditional beats could move anyone’s hips. The crowd danced away into the night enjoying every bit of the roaring pulsate of the classic sound. Jazzing up the Hill Capital with her tantalizing voice was Yohani Desilva[a] and her electrifying ba nd who was also Berunda’s chief cheerleaders for the night. We were super proud to have these amazing artists be apart of brand. Yohani and members of the band wore tees from Berunda’s latest collection - The Originals. Thank you Yohani and the team for your endorsement! A special shout out goes to our main sponso

The Berunda Fiesta summer festival put together by Berunda was a unique event that was beyond a typical food festival. With the stalls in place, ovens fired up, lights lit up and the sounds tuned to full, the stage was set for a memorable evening full of delicious food and electrifying music. As the sun was setting the park filled with excited groups of people who had made their way to Bogambara not only from Kandy but from many parts of the island in anticipation of an entertaining evening. By night the crowd was a refreshing mix of friends, families, and couples from all age groups. The cool evening air around the park was filled with the mouthwatering smell of freshly prepared pizzas, burgers, tacos, kottu, and many other gastronomic foods. There were mom-n-pop stalls offering an extraordinary range of local and foreign cuisines as well as outlets of many of your favorite restaurants. The presence of the brand was strong in the Berunda stall which stood out at the festival as people flocked around it. In the middle of crackling fires an
